The question is: What exactly does it offer and is it worthy of our hard-earned money? Well, let’s find out, shall we?

Summary

All in all, these are the aspects of MalwareFox that we’ll be looking at:

Features

Here are some of the features that MalwareFox promises to offer: Ransomware Protection, Real-Time Protection, Zero-Day Attack Protection and of course, Malware Protection, Ransomware is a kind of malware that encrypts your files and asks for a ransom. If you don’t pay the ransom, you don’t get your files back. It’s that simple. In fact, even if you do pay the ransom, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get your files back. After all, you’re dealing with cyber criminals here. Zero-Day Attack Protection keeps you safe from zero-day exploits. Threats that take advantage of security exploits in the operating system or in 3rd party software. Zero-day exploits are often not patched for days after the threat gets released on the Internet. Which is why this feature can be a lifesaver. Real-Time Protection enables MalwareFox to monitor your computer 24/7. If you happen to download a malicious program or something similar, MalwareFox should immediately detect it without having to perform a malware scan. Malware Protection refers to numerous kinds of malware. You see, malware no longer refers to viruses only. We now have multiple kinds of threats to worry about. Sophisticated or not. Things like adware, browser hijackers, spyware, and many more.

Pricing

MalwareFox offers two versions. One free trial of two weeks and the full version. The price for the full version might differ from Country to Country due to taxes. I’m currently living in Europe and the price for the solo version is 20 euros for me. That’s about 24 dollars. Again, the price might be different for you depending on where you’re living. You might have noticed that I mentioned the solo version. That’s because MalwareFox offers 3 paid versions. The solo version is for one computer, the pro version which is for two computers, and the family version which is for 3 computers. All of them have about 3 dollars of a difference between them. So, if you’re planning to install it on more than one computer, then purchasing a slightly bigger plan would make sense.

Effectiveness

As you can see in the video above, MalwareFox manages to detect 99.2% of the 1000 malware samples that were thrown at it. And it even managed to outperform Malwarebytes which is a very famous Anti-Malware. By the way, don’t try to search for a security program that detects 100% of malware. It’s just not possible with our current technology. There are thousands of malicious programs getting created as you’re reading this article. The rate in which malware gets developed and released is just too fast for anyone to keep up with all of it. And even still, 99.2% is a rather impressive result. Do keep in mind that it’s recommended to combine MalwareFox with an Antivirus as well so that you’ll get the best results. Yes, you generally shouldn’t use two security programs at once. However, that only applies while using two programs of the same kind. Like two Antivirus programs or two Anti-Malware ones. Having only one Antivirus and one Anti-Malware is fine and recommended as the two of them focus on different threats. I understand how this might be a bit of a turn off for some people, but that’s just how things generally work.

Optimization

MalwareFox seems to be surprisingly well optimized in all aspects. It’s lightweight, doesn’t take much space, doesn’t consume a lot of resources, and it’s also highly effective. What a rare combination! To be more precise, the downloaded file only takes 5 megabytes of disk space. You can download that in seconds even with the slowest of internet speeds. And it’s also a very small file even for the smallest of disks. The installation and setup takes nothing but a few seconds. However, do keep in mind that these seconds could turn into a minute or two if you’re using a low-end computer. While running in the background, MalwareFox consumes about 0.3% of your CPU resources and 84 megabytes of RAM. CPU usage may differ from computer to computer. The less powerful that a computer is, the more CPU resources that MalwareFox or any program will take. I’m somewhere on the mid-range side of things. So, I expect that you won’t have a problem even on the low-end market. Now, of course, while scanning, these numbers are bound to go way higher. But you generally don’t want to be using your computer when a scheduled malware scan takes place.

Rating

That’s it. We went through a detailed review of MalwareFox. Looked at every feature that it can offer, how well it can run, how much it costs, and pretty much everything. All things considered, I think that the time approaches for a final conclusion. A final rating. Let’s start with the pros and cons of MalwareFox. Pros:

CheapEasy to UseLightweightEffectiveMultiple Paid Versions to Choose From

Cons:

No free version

Short Analysis Cheap: 25 bucks or so is rather cheap for a full-fledged Anti-Malware program. MalwareFox is relatively cheaper compared to its competition as well and that’s a good thing. Easy to Use: You don’t have to be a tech-savvy person to use MalwareFox. The installation, setup, and everyday use is extremely straightforward. Just click on this link, wait for the download to finish, and run the executable file by double-clicking on it. Lightweight: Some of us cannot afford a high-end computer and MalwareFox takes that into consideration. Nobody wants a slow computer. Effective: What good would be an Anti-Malware if it couldn’t do its job? MalwareFox has proved its worth numerous times over. Multiple Paid Versions: It just feels good to have choices in our lives. Many of us only have one computer and we shouldn’t have to pay for two or three. No Free Version: The developers need to pay their bills. I get it. But most security programs also offer a free basic version and MalwareFox doesn’t.

Conclusion

All things considered, I give MalwareFox a 4.7 out of 5 for its great optimization and effectiveness.
